It’s that time of year where curling up beside the Christmas tree with a hot drink in hand and a book is just the best thing in the world.
I want my boys to feel that. To know that cozy home feeling of curling up with a good book. To break that stereotype where only girls read.
We’ve been reading tons of usual Christmas classics for kids – but I’ve also found a few new ones to add to our list.
Some is ours and some we got from the library. Some are also from the boys Christmas presents this year – so don’t tell them
So here is the list. You can check out the covers of each in my video HERE.
The List:
The Christmas Story from the Bible – obviously!
The Night before Christmas – an absolute must classic Christmas book.
Peep Inside The Nativity Story (Usborne)
Are you there Little Elf (Usborne)
Billy and the Mini Monsters ‘Christmas’ (Usborne) – a great intro chapter book idea. My son loves this series. We could finish a book in a day but also has chapters if you want to split up reading.
Pick a Pine Tree by Patricia Toht
Elf (Pop Classic)
Home Alone (Pop Classic)
S is for Santa
Santa Post by Emma Yarlett
Porcupine in a Pine Tree (The whole collection) by Helaine Becker and Werner Zimmermann
Pop Up Christmas (Usborne)
How do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague
Room for a Little One by Martin Waddell
Share your favorites in the comments so I can expand our collection next year!
